Objectives

The objectives of the Copenhagen Process are to:

  • Promote mutual trust, transparency and recognition of competences and qualifications
  • Establish a basis for increasing mobility of participants
  • Facilitate access to lifelong learning

It is interesting to notice that the position of the Commission has progressively evolved, starting from a strategy aiming to establish systems of equivalence between qualifications awarded in Member States, then approaches trying to establish correspondences between qualifications and promotion of mutual trust and transparency in order to facilitate the recognition of competences and qualifications.
